Admission
First-Year Freshmen are students who will graduate or have graduated from high school or received a GED, AND have not enrolled or completed 24 transferable hours at another institution AFTER high school or earning a GED.
Students who have met the required high school diploma types below may be considered for admission by submitting a complete application.
- Distinguished Achievement (HB5)
- Recommended (UAP)
- Distinguished (UAP)
First-time freshmen seeking admission should graduate/have graduated high school with one of the following diploma types that include 4 English credits, 4 Math credits, 4 Science credits, 3 Social Studies credits, and 2 credits of the same foreign language.
Homeschooled, Out-of-State students, and Private School students are exempt from this requirement.
Returning Students
If you were previously enrolled at A&M-Corpus Christi as a regularly attending undergraduate student and have not been enrolled here a period of one year or longer, you may be eligible to apply for admission as a returning/former student. Please see below for further requirements and instructions.

What if I've been out less than one year?
If you have been out for less than one year, please contact the Registrar's Office about reinstating your enrollment at 361.825.7245(SAIL).
Note: If you have recently graduated and want to continue attending A&M-Corpus Christi, you must re-apply for admission, regardless of the length of time since your last term of enrollment.

Welcome to Islander Housing! By living on campus, students can thrive both inside and outside of the classroom through connections with the Islander community, engaging in social and educational opportunities, and the convenience of living on campus.
Residency Requirement
TAMU-CC has a One-Year Residency Requirement!
TAMU-CC is committed to helping Islanders be successful in college! Because of this, most first-year students are required to live on campus in Miramar for at least two semesters.
Students who live on campus are more likely to:
- have a higher GPA
- be more involved on-campus
- use campus resources
- graduate in less time
- feel a sense of belonging that comes with living on campus
You are automatically exempt from this requirement and do not need to complete the Special Residency Requirement Exemption Form if:
- You graduated from high school more than twelve months of starting classes at the University; or
- You will be aged 21 or older as of September 1; or
- Your permanent address is inside of the following counties: Aransas, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, and San Patricio or inside the zip codes 78340 (Bayside) and 78393 (
